While the democrats are united in Denver, CO, for the Democratic National Convention to formally announce Barack Obama's nomination for president, the Illinois senator's rival John McCain, put a little “gasolina” in his campaign, with the announcement that reggaetonero Daddy Yankee supports the Republican.

"I'm here to support senator McCain because I believe in his ideals and his plans for running the nation," said the 32-year-old during a visit to Central High School in Phoenix, AZ.

“As I've said before, the senator has been someone who's fought for the Hispanic community, and for immigration, and I know I've chosen the best candidate for me," said the “La gasolina” singer

The Arizona senator, who's banking on the Latino vote to bring him to the White House, referred to the reggaetonero as a "great leader whose lived the American dream."
