Narciso Rodríguez will be honored at the Alma Awards

The Cuban American designer will receive a great achievement award

      Designer Narciso Rodríguez will be payed homage to at the Alma (American Latino Media Arts Awards), sponsored by Consejo Nacional La Raza, thanks to his efforts in promoting a Latin presence in the U.S. in fashion and culture.

      The 47-year-old will be honored on August 17 at the Civic Auditorium, in Pasadena, CA, with the show airing on ABC on September 12.

      Shakira, Linda Ronstadt will also get receive special recognition.

      The event, which is hosted by Eva Longoria Parker, will feature Black Eyes Peas, América Ferrera, Carlos Mencía, Jessica Alba, Adam Rodríguez, Enrique Murciano, Sofía Vergara, Cristián de la Fuente, Kate del Castillo, Pitbull, and the Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano.
