Salma broke up with François-Henri Pinault this past winter

Although it's only been days since the world found out about the actress' split with the French impresario, PEOPLE magazine reports that the relationship was on the rocks a while ago

      A few days ago, it was announced that Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault had broken off their engagement. Although they tried to salvage their relationship within these past few months, the couple had already split this past winter.

      A source close to the mulitmillionaire Frenchman decided to break off their engagement due to the impresario's overly difficult and busy schedule. They made up briefly, but that didn't seem to last long.

      The magazine also reported that the Ugly Betty (ABC) producer was not depressed, and that she's focusing on her daughter, Valentina Paloma, whom she had with her ex.

      “Her friends don't seem to be worried about the actress, who mentioned that she had a strong desire to become a mother, even before she met Pinault. She felt like she was born to be a mother, and now she's very happy,” according the the magazine.
