Laura Zapata: "It's a good thing that Betancourt doesn't have sisters like mine"

      The liberation of Colombia's ex-presidential candidate, Ingrid Betancourt, has brought back bad memories for Laura Zapata along with resentments she holds against her sisters Thalía and Ernestina Sodi. "It's so great that she doesn't have sisters like mine, because upon her liberation they would've started making demands," said Zapata during an interview with Notimex.       The creator of the play Cautivas can't forget her sisters' behavior after her kidnapping in Mexico. "They kidnapped me, and accused me of setting up the whole thing. It's not that it's unforgivable, but it does distance you from your family forever."       Thalía expressed her own thoughts on a Colombian radio show about Zapata. "You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends, and the only thing I share with Laura (Zapata) is DNA," she said.       When it comes to a reconciliation, none of the women seem to want to budge. "God bless Thalía. So I'm specific and clear: I love her and wish her the best, but that's it," said Zapata about her famous sister.

     Aside from her villainous role in the soap Cuidado con el ángel, Zapata plans to return to the stage with Erick del Castillo in Vida por amor, which touches upon the controversial subject of abortion.
