Daddy Yankee can also act. That was made evident on Wednesday night in the Big Apple during the New York International Latino Film Festival's screening of the film Talento de barrio, which the raggaetonero executive produced and starred in.

The film was shot over the course of several two years, and finally garnered some buzz when it was picked up by the HBO Latino festival where Yankee assured that "although the film isn't biographical, it is a realistic portrayal of barrios".

Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008 and Adrienne Bailon, from the Cheetah Girls, and the film's cast , along with Daddy Yankee's staff attended the event.

The movie's plot unfolds in a lower class Puerto Rican barrio, in which Édgar Dinero (Yankee) makes a living selling drugs and being the leader of a gang who defends their barrio according to their own laws.

Dinero has a good heart, but he can't seem to find another way to make a living, until one day a music producer discovers his musical talent for raggaeton, and convinces him to leave the life of crime.
