Jenni Rivera faces charges of assault

      According to TV show La oreja, Univisión reported that Jenni Rivera was arrested on Monday after a concert in Raleigh, North Carolina, for allegedly hitting a fan. The singer of Mexican descent will face charges of assault, and will have to appear before the court on July 25.

      Sources say that the incident occurred after the singer was hit on her right leg with a beer can that was thrown by someone in the crowd. The infuriated 38-year-old songstress made the culprit climb up on stage, and allegedly started assaulting him physically and verbally.

      After the altercation, the fan called the police, and Rivera was arrested after wrapping up the concert. The singer was detained for a few hours, but released shortly after paying $3,000 bail.

      According to the Mexican daily El Universal, a spokesman for the Raleigh police reported that the performer of "The Man" will have to appear in court on July 25 to face charges of assault.
