A calm and mild-mannered Luis Miguel politely answered all the questions by journalists from all over Latin America. As usual, he only avoided one subject: his personal life. “I prefer to keep my personal experiences to myself, although many are reflected on this work," he said. When asked whether he’s found true love, Luismi replied: "I don’t know, no one knows that until it arrives. True love to me are my parents and my son." One thing’s for sure though, the proud father did not mind gushing about his son, Miguelito, the product of his relationship with Mexican actress Aracely Arámbula. The singer didn’t stop talking about all the happiness his son has brought him, emphasizing that this new production was greatly inspired by him. In fact, he dedicates the song "Ay Cariño" to his child. “I feel fulfilled," he confessed. And who can blame him? He just received a quadruple platinum record for the 320 thousand copies his new album has sold since its release. “There was one aspect of love that was still unknown to me, that is a father’s love, and that has made me see things in a new light," he added. Even though the 38-year-old singer has found one of life’s greatest satisfactions in experiencing fatherhood, he still dreams of reuniting with his mother, Marcela Basteri, whom he hasn’t seen in 18 years. “I want to say to my mother, wherever she is, that we miss her very much and love her," he said, sending his mother a Mother’s Day greeting. Meanwhile, the El Sol de México continues to enjoy this radiant new facet in his life, spending time with Miguelito and reveling in the success of his new album. He also said he plans to make music in English and doesn’t rule out the possibility of recording duets with other Latin superstars like Miguel Bosé or Shakira. “Professionally-speaking, I feel stronger than 5 or 6 years ago," he stated. “Surely each person will identify with one of these songs." In the following months, the singer will embark on a new tour, which will cover countries like Portugal, Italy, Spain, Brazil and México. |
