ALAS will host two simultaneous concerts to help children in need

      The ALAS Foundation announced on Wednesday that it will host two massive concerts on Saturday, May 17th, at the Zocalo in the Mexican capital and the ecological reserve Costanera Sur in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The purpose of the two concerts is to raise awareness to help the neediest kids in Latin America

      The following artists have already been confirmed to perform: Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz, Calle 13, Juan Luis Guerra, Chayanne, Juanes, Maná, Miguel Bosé, Paulina Rubio, David Bisbal, Diego Torres, Fito Páez, Gustavo Cerati, Jorge Drexler, Los Tigres del Norte, Ricardo Montaner, Shakira, Aleks Syntek, Ana Torroja, Babasónicos, La Portuaria, Pedro Aznar, and Tania Libertad. The final list, detailing which artists will perform in each of these two cities, will be released soon.

      The concerts will have a massive reach and will be free to the public. The – Zocalo Plaza has a capacity for 200 thousand people while the Costanera Sur Reserve, can accomodate up to 120 thousand –. Araceli Ruano, the executive director of the foundation, said ALAS would use the power of music to draw attention to their mission of helping needy children in Latin America.       ALAS is a non-profit organization founded by Latin American artists, as well as literary and business leaders, to provide concrete actions to help improve the conditions of nutrition, health and education with an emphasis on Latin American children.
