![]() Alejandro Sanz GETTY IMAGES As of now, the following artists have agreed to participate in the concerts: Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz, Calle 13, Juan Luis Guerra, Chayanne, Juanes, Maná, Miguel Bosé, Paulina Rubio, David Bisbal, Diego Torres, Fito Páez, Gustavo Cerati, Jorge Drexler, Los Tigres del Norte, Ricardo Montaner, Shakira, Timbiriche, Aleks Syntek and Babasónicos. The mega-concerts will be free, as the performers “seek not to raise money, but rather harness the power that comes from bringing thousands of music fans together to support the ALAS mission of strengthening and expanding public and private sector support for Early Childhood Development in Latin America,” the press release reads. ALAS (“wings” in Spanish) was founded by famous Latin musicians, artists and leaders of the private sector with the goal of improving conditions in and raising awareness about impoverished areas, with an emphasis on Latin American children. The foundation provides education, health and nutrition programs for people in need in Latin America. No further information was given in regards to where the concerts will take place specifically. |
