América Ferrera Named Best Comedic Actress at Image Awards

      América Ferrera’s role on ABC’s popular show Ugly Betty has won her another award. This time, the actress of Honduran descent scored the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy honor at the 39th NAACP Image Awards.

      "This is awesome, thank you so much," the 23-year-old television star said onstage, according to E! Online. "I love to be a part of this show because it's fun to be a part of, but also for what it stands for…It feels really good to be in this room with such wonderful, beautiful, colorful faces."

      Ferrera’s performance as Betty Suarez on the hit series has made her a Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy Award-winning actress. The Latina star’s first major role was in the film Real Women Have Curves, which she did at age 16.
