Javier Bardem Wins Golden Globe, Atonement & Sweeney Todd Best Pictures

The winners were announced during a press conference with no celebs presents

      The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards lost the battle to the Writers Guild of America strike this year. The show went on, but without the glitz and glam of the typical red carpet ceremony, and with no celebs in sight. Instead, the list of winners was announced during a simple one-hour press conference.

      Atonement took home the award for best drama, while Sweeney Todd snagged the prize for best comedy or musical.

      Julie Christie won the statue for best actress in a drama for her role in Away From Her, and in the comedy or musical category, Marion Cotillard picked up the award for her performance in La Vie En Rose.

      There Will Be Blood star Daniel Day-Lewis won for best actor in a drama, and Johnny Depp picked up the best comedic actor prize for his role in Sweeney Todd.

      No Country for Old Men star Javier Bardem was named best supporting actor. Cate Blanchett won best supporting actress for her performance in I’m Not There.
