![]() Beto Cuevas GETTY IMAGES You’ve lived in Canada, Chile and Venezuela. Which Christmas did you like the best? I remember the Christmases in Venezuela. I loved them. Everyone on skates, singing carols at mass, arepitas with shredded beef – we really went to mass for that. Lots of games, some dangerous, but we would have fun back then, nothing ever happened to us. When I went to Montreal I saw the snow for the first time. We had a white Christmas. And Christmas in Chile is very summery. Were you surprised when you found out who Santa was? What a good question, because I grew up that day. When I was 8 or 9 years old, I was in the kitchen in Venezuela, and my older sister would say to me: ‘Papa Noel’ is papa…and I would say ‘Noel.’ Up until the third time I said that Papa Noel isn’t papa, and that’s when I grew up. I remember when I was a kid, I would think I’d seen Papa Noel. One time I was looking at the stars, and I saw that they were moving, and I thought it was his sleigh. I had a really vivid imagination. What are your New Year’s resolutions? I have a lot. I’ve been meditating lately. I want to take my mental state to another level so that I can get the best out of my life. To do better things, continue with my humanitarian work like preserving nature in Patagonia. Also, helping illegal parents with children who suffer from cancer. |
