Britney Spears Released from Hospital Early

      After being hospitalized for only seven days, Britney Spears was released early from UCLA Medical Center, where she was receiving psychiatric treatment against her will and was supposed to remain for two weeks.

      The singer’s parents, Jamie and Lynne, who weren’t happy about the decision, sent the following statement to CNN explaining that they feared for their 26-year-old daughter: “As parents of an adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk.”

      As soon as she was released, the singer was immediately back in the spotlight, spending most of the day driving around Los Angeles with her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. According to People.com, after visiting a lawyer’s office and having lunch at a restaurant, Spears and Ghalib headed to the “Gimme More” star’s house in Studio City, where her parents arrived later.
