It looks like the cast members of the telenovela
El engaño were in the dark about
Fernando Carrillo’s sudden departure from the Telemundo network.
Actress
Dominika Paleta, who’ll play the villain on the show, didn’t find out that the premiere was being postponed until last week. On Friday, she says, “They gave me the news over the phone that we wouldn’t be airing the show until the end of January, but fortunately we’re not airing, because it’s this huge mystery.”
But the biggest mystery of all is who will take over the starring role. If you believe the rumors, the soap’s new leading man will be played by Peruvian actor
Christian Meier. And as we keep trying to figure out the real reason that Carrillo had to leave, the actors continue to work on
El engaño to create a show full of surprises for viewers.
“It’s not a happy story, and it’s the first telenovela that will air in high definition in Mexico,” says Paleta, who will play Alma, an insecure girl down on life who will wreak havoc on the life of
Gaby Espino’s character throughout the series. “It will be a story adapted to the time period, it’s really contemporary and the villains will have a bigger part.”
