The singer and his wife, Tameka Foster, are now parents to a baby boy

People.com reports that U.S. singer Usher and his wife, Tameka Foster, got a visit from the stork on Monday.

Usher Raymond V was born in Atlanta, Ga. at 9:55 p.m., weighing in at 7 lbs. 9 oz., according to a statement from the couple. "We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son," the new parents said.

The artist, 29, was with his wife, 36, at an Atlanta hospital on Tuesday. The two are expected to be home today.

Usher and Foster announced that they were expecting a baby in June. In September, the singer gushed to PEOPLE that the baby would be boy, saying "I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost."
