The Hispanic marketing pioneer lost her battle against cancer

Tere Zubizarreta, the US pioneer in the field of marketing to Hispanics as well as the founding partner of Zubi Advertising in Coral Gables, FL, fell victim to cancer and died.

The 69-year-old accomplished professional was born in Cuba and came to the US in 1960 with her husband and no college degree. She managed, however, to create the first Hispanic ad agency, leaving an impressive legacy in the marketing field. Ms, Zubizarreta is survived by her husbandOctavio Zubizarreta and her son Joe. A funeral service honoring this Cuban-American pioneer will take place tomorrow, Friday, in Miami, FL. May she rest in peace.
