RBD Sued by Event Promoter

The pop group faces legal consequences after axing four shows in Colombia

Pop group RBD is getting sued after canceling four concerts scheduled for the Colombia segment of their tour, according to a report from Mexican newspaper Milenio. The band members didn't show up for performances scheduled for Bogotá, Barranquilla, Medellín and Pereira in August.

Juan Pablo Ospina, event promoter for the Colombian company Show Business & Entertainment, filed the suit on Nov. 21 in Florida, where the contract was originally signed.

Roptus, the band's PR company, announced the cancellation of the Colombian tour on the same day the young stars were scheduled to arrive in the country. While Roptus explained they had to ax the shows because of technical problems, the Colombian press claimed the Mexican group ducked out of the concerts because of low ticket sales.

To make up for missed performances, RBD is planning to offer a free concert in Bogotá on Dec. 11.
