Following her bout in jail last June for probation violation and driving under the influence, the 26-year-old heiress promised to focus her attentions on aiding the less fortunate. It looks like the November trip, then, will be an attempt at keeping her word.
"I'll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie. There's so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help," she told E! Online.
According to reports, Hilton has been invited to Rwanda by Scott Lazerson, whose foundation Playing for Good creates opportunities for celebs and high-profile business individuals to work with organizations that aid those in need.
"I want to visit more countries where poverty and children's issues are a big concern," the actress expressed. "I know there's a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues."
Hilton has recently been spending her time filming Repo! The Genetic Opera in Toronto. Once the film wraps, the socialite will pack her bags and head off for her first humanitarian effort, which she hopes won't be the only one.
