Overcrowded prison conditions got the actress off the hook, was set free after serving only 17 days of a 180-day sentence

Michelle Rodríguez is a free woman. On Wednesday, the actress of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent left the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Ca. where she'd been behind bars since Dec. 23. After serving only 17 days of a 180-day sentence, the 29-year-old was released due to overcrowded conditions at the jail, reports E! Online.

In October of last year, the Los Angeles Superior Court informed that The Fast and the Furious actress "admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service and for consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device."

Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell ordered that she serve the full sentence, forbidding early release or the option to do community service in lieu of spending time in prison. Looks like Rodríguez got lucky.
