The Puerto Rican singer took in a Broadway show with her husband Marc Anthony

Taking care of 5-month-old twins provides Jennifer Lopez with plenty of excitement. So when it came to celebrating her 39th birthday on Thursday, she opted for a low-key evening–and a Broadway show–with her husband, Marc Anthony, reports People.com.

"We had such a blast last night," Anthony, 39, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS radio show Friday. "It's almost like every day is her birthday ... so last night we just wanted it to be quiet and, you know, have a nice quiet evening together."

The couple snuck into the Tony-winning musical In the Heights (about three days in an Upper Manhattan neighborhood), and got "to sit in an audience and watch other people be nervous," Anthony said.

When asked about touring with babies Max and Emme, Anthony said: "When your foundation is stable and you're good, it doesn't really affect anything. It just amplifies what the experience feels like. It's that much more fulfilling, and you look forward to coming home. It's a great time."
