The Grand Finale of La fea más bella
Angélica Vale and Jaime Camil
THE END Poor Leticia Padilla married Don Fernando in a gorgeous ceremony. An attractive Lety looked nothing like her well-known ugly duckling persona. Handsome Aldo Domenzaín (Juan Soler) provided the story's unexpected twist: His true identity is none other than a guardian angel sent to help the lovebirds cement their relationship.
THE RATINGS La fea did Televisa a favor, giving it its best ratings in seven years. The network beat out TV Azteca by showing the final episode on a Sunday, at the same time that its rival was airing the Academy Awards ceremony. Televisa got a 43 share of the audience while TV Azteca got only 9.5.
NOW WHAT? With the melodrama's overwhelming success and their careers, frankly, on overdrive, the novela's stars and powers-that-be are planning their lives after spending an entire year taping La fea.
ANGÉLICA VALE The actress faced several health problems during the year due to exhaustion, making a good vacation just what the doctor ordered. "It has been a year of rushing around, filled with beautiful things, very hard. I think I have to let some time pass so that people want to see me on television again", Vale told the Mexican press after announcing plans to release a CD sometime this year.
JAIME CAMIL The handsome actor is not following in his colleague's footsteps. Instead, he's getting ready to star in the film A propósito de Alexa, which is being shot in Ensenada, México.
JUAN SOLER The Argentinean actor lived and breathed the end of the melodrama hand-in-hand with the birth of his second daughter, Azul.In the immediate future, the proud papa will be spending some quality time with his family. Job offers are sure to follow.
ROSY OCAMPO The novela's producer didn't even take a break after the long-awaited final episode. Instead, she began working on her next project with which she hopes to top the success of La fea."We're working on a story for the family, we want to continue that line that integrates the family (...) we want it to be an original story," she explained, adding she has already met with her writers and creative team.
