Don Omar: The Scandal Was Good for Our Relationship

After facing accusations from a prostitute, he's ready to walk down the aisle with Jackie Guerrido

While in Puerto Rico yesterday to promote his new album King of Kings Live, Don Omar spoke with newspaper El Nuevo Día about the shocking statements an Argentinean prostitute made about him over a month ago regarding his sexual behavior. The woman claimed that they had sex and that the singer, who was at the time and is still engaged to Jackie Guerrido, enjoys sadomasochism.

The 29-year-old artist said on the show Despierta América that instead of hurting their relationship, the scandal actually strengthened his bond with Guerrido. "It was a moment that really showed me that I'm in love. A year ago I would have blown up to the point of even going down to Argentina. The only person I wanted to tell it was a lie to was her [Jackie]," the reggaeton star expressed.

Don Omar also assured that he and Guerrido, 37, will be tying the knot in 2008. The two have been together for seven months.

"I want to be able to have a specific [wedding date] in mind. I don't just want it for us, but for everyone who's helped me be who I am," said the "Pobre diabla" singer.

The good news about his romantic life coincides with a positive moment in his career. Don Omar's latest album sold half a million copies and is taking the urban music scene by storm.
