Daniela Spanic's Surgery a Success

The actress's first words after getting a plate inserted in her head: "Do I really look beautiful?"

The Tuesday operation that Daniela Spanic underwent was a total success. After having a plate implanted into her cranium, the 33-year-old actress and model is now recovering in a Mexico City hospital.

Spanic's husband Ademar Nahum told La Oreja (Televisa) that his wife is doing very well, and that her first words when she came out of the surgery were: "Do I really look beautiful?"

The surgery marks the end of the Venezuelan actress's recuperation treatment, which began after she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage last July. "Once the hemorrhage created perforations in the cranium, surgery could have been done, but since she was pregnant, they couldn't move forward with the plate implant, which is why they waited for the proper conditions," Nahum told the press on Tuesday. The husband of Gaby Spanic's sister also stated that the surgery wasn't risky. "This is the final stage of this miracle, and we know that everything will turn out really well," he added.

In spite of her health obstacles, Spanic gave birth to Katalina Nahum Spanic on Nov. 24 without any complications. Now that the surgery has been completed, she can enjoy the early stages with her little girl to the fullest.
