Cristian Castro Refuses to Support Valeria Liberman

The singer claims that his soon-to-be ex-wife is able to work and support herself

The legal battle between Cristian Castro and Valeria Liberman has begun. When the Argentinean lawyer filed for divorce from the singer in February, she requested custody of their two children and solicited official documents detailing their financial assets. Now, Castro is firing back with a document to the court stating that he does not wish to financially support the mother of his two children.

The hosts of popular Univisión talk show El Gordo y la Flaca read the document aloud on their program. According to the document, Castro, 33, has requested shared custody of 2-year-old Simone and 3-month-old Mikhail Zaratustra. The singer also agreed to pay for his children's meal expenses, but refused to support Liberman, 33, alleging that the lawyer is physically and professionally capable to support herself. But it's not all bad news for Liberman – Verónica Castro's son has decided to give the couple's Miami mansion to her.

Castro and Liberman married July 31, 2004. It became clear that the two were having problems last October, when the singer filed for divorce, a request he quickly withdrew.
