Celebrating The Latino Image
The movie Pan's Labyrinth and TV's Ugly Betty won most of the recognitions at the Image Awards

The TV series Ugly Betty (ABC) received the award for best primetime TV program, and two of its featured actresses also were recognized. Honduran América Ferrera was selected best TV actress, and Ana Ortiz got the nod in the best supporting actress category.
The film Pan's Labyrinth received the award for best movie. Ivana Baquero got the best actress statuette for her role in the movie, whose director Guillermo del Toro was chosen as the best film director of the year.
Additionally, Mexican Kuno Becker won the best movie actor award for his role in Goal and the TV program Dora The Explorer was selected as the best children's show.
All in all, nineteen statuettes were handed out to movie and TV personalities who have had a hand in conveying positive images of Latinos in the U.S. entertainment industry.
