For now, the 25-year-old singer will have supervised visitation rights with her two sons. Court representative Allan Parachini said "Britney's access to her kids works out to about every other day."
The pop star's lawyer Sorrell Trope, Federline and his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan all attended the three-hour, private hearing. Kaplan remarked that the custody order was "justified" and mentioned that the ex-couple's boys are doing well.
The lawyer of the songstress refused to comment on the ruling.
Last Monday, L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that the artist would have to give temporary custody of her kids to her ex. The order came after a private meeting between Gordan and Kaplan. It was later explained that the reason for the order was Spears' failure to take twice-weekly random blood and alcohol tests. She also couldn't provide proof of a California driver's license when accused of a hit-and-run after an Aug. 6 fender-bender.
