The rumors were true. Ashlee Simpson is expecting a child, a source close to the singer told People.com.

Jessica Simpson's younger sister, 23, recently announced that she and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, 28, are engaged. The source told People.com that Simpson and Wentz are planning to wed in May at her friend's house in southern California.

The youngest Simpson has yet to confirm the pregnancy news, which her fiancé recently deemed a "witch hunt." But in an interview on MTV's TRL a few days ago, Wentz responded to the baby question again, stating simply that, "Some things you want to keep personal."
