Anaís Suffers a Miscarriage

After rumors circulated on Tuesday that Anaís was expecting, the Dominican singer confirmed to our website that she was pregnant, but sadly, she's suffered a miscarriage.

“I was pregnant. The pregnancy process got started in my body, but…for some reason it was interrupted, which [caused me] to have a miscarriage,” the 23-year-old artist revealed.

The singer explained that she took a pregnancy test on Monday, which came out positive. The later test she took, though, turned out to be negative, which means that she had an ectopic pregnancy. This occurs when the embryo implants itself somewhere other than the uterus.

Although she's been trying to avoid getting pregnant for professional reasons, the young star admitted that the thought of becoming a mother made her happy. “I feel bad because I was really excited when I found out. All the urine tests that I did and all the tests that came out positive, I was happy, I was excited. I even called my family because I thought I was going to be a mother. But it didn't happen. It's like when you lose a child,' she expressed.

While dealing with this loss, the singer is getting ready to record an album this year and move forward. “Continue with my career, focus on other things, because I really thought it was a gift from God,” she added.
